Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air announced with high end specs
Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant is announcing a bunch of new products every week. The company has officially launched its first ever laptop called the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air. The name is similar to the Apple’s MacBook Air. The Mi notebook Air was leaked on numerous occasions. It was the most awaited product for Xiaomi lovers. Xiaomi has entered into the PC segment with this notebook. The Vice President of Xiaomi Hugo Barra himself made the device official as he sent out the following tweet.
Another Xiaomi first today: Mi Notebook Air, our first foray into the laptop market, 13.3-inch and 12.5-inch.
The Mi Notebook Air runs on latest Windows 10 Pro and comes in two size variants. You can choose between 13.3-inch version and 12.5-inch. Both the notebooks feature a slim design and a 1080p display with slim under-glass bezels. Both Mi Notebook Air have Apple like metallic design and two color variants: gold and silver. There is a backlit keyboard and a USB Type-C charging port.
The flagship 13.3-inch model comes with a dual core Intel Core i5-6200U “Skylake-U” processor having base frequency at 2.3GHz, turbo up to 2.7GHz. There is a NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU (with 1GB GDDR5 RAM) for best graphics performance. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air features rich and great specifications. It is just 14.8mm thick and 1.28kg heavy. It is thinner and lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Air. There is 8GB of DDR4 RAM along with 256GB of SSD via PCIe and one free SATA slot for expansion. The notebook has a great battery backup. It comes with 40Wh battery which is enough for up to 9.5 hours. It has ultra-fast charging with its unique USB type C charging port. It can go from zero to 50 percent in just half an hour.

The Another 12.5 inch model is even slimmer and lighter at 12.9mm and 1.07kg. In this notebook you’ll have an Intel Core M3 CPU and no dedicated GPU. This version of Mi Notebook Air features just 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD via SATA. There is also one free PCIe slot to upgrade your notebook. There is only one USB 3.0 ports instead of two.
The Mi Notebook Air is launching in China on August 2nd. Again, As usual, the Mi Notebook Air is launching initially in China on 2 August, 2016. The prices are starting at RMB 4999 (approx. Rs 50,200) for the 13.3-inch model and RMB 3499 (approx. Rs 35,200) for the 12.5-inch model. There’s no official information regarding global availability of the notebooks.
