CM12 stable build for OnePlus One Coming in March
OnePlus is known to making waves in android smartphone industry. Cyanogen has announced earlier in January that CM12 stable Lollipop build for the OnePlus One was at the “QA/QE” stage for its release. Recently Oneplus One announced the availability of the 16GB Silk White version in India. In February, OnePlus released more details on the upcoming stable build of OxygenOS (Custom Rom by Oneplus) for their devices. After few days OnePlus and Cyanogen released an update known as the CM11S O5Q. This was a major update for devices and global users got this update via OTA. Indian user have to download the update and manually install it. Now founder of Oneplus Carl Pei tweeted about the CM12 stable update for the OnePlus One:
[pull_quote_center]We released an L alpha a while ago, but a more stable build ( OxygenOS and CM12S) will need to wait until March. Sorry for delay! [/pull_quote_center]
Pei didn’t give a specific date for the release of the ROM. However, according to his tweets CM12 stable will be available in mid to late March. This means that OnePlus One users will have to wait for another month to enjoy the new CM12 stable.
Other brands like Sony, HTC, LG and even Samsung have successfully rolled out the updates of Android 5.0 Lollipop for their multiple devices via OTA. But Oneplus and Cyanogen are still working on it. A reason stated by Carl Pei for the delay is “proprietary drivers, code, QA, certifications.” But it is a standard procedure. Users can’t afford being delay. It is presumed that the stable version of CyanogenMod 12s will be based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
Anyway the Nightly Builds of CM12 are available for the Oneplus One on Cyanogen’s official website. To download click here.
