Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA updates rolling out for Xperia Z3 by Sony

Sony has been started rolling out android 5.0 lollipop OTA for xperia series. Sony Xperia Z3 is the first phone to get android 5.0 lollipop updates. Other companies like LG, Samsung, HTC  has taking a long time to roll out Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA updates. But Sony has started to make the first after Google Nexus Lollipop updates available to its customers. The priority for updates is the Xperia Z3 family, which is Sony’s current flagship smart phones.

Sony has set update plan for its all smart phones. Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact set to get first Android 5.0 Lollipop. The roll-out for these devices starts today in European countries like UK, Germany, France etc. Soon It will be available for user in Asian countries like China, India, Japan.

As per Sony’s statement:  [pull_quote_center]After blending Google’s first Lollipop release with its software users can expect to see a fresh design, that is based on the Material Design language but still feels unmistakably Sony. So, basically, it’s not going all-in with Material Design, just like other vendors.[/pull_quote_center]

Sony is making changes in design which impacts on notification bar and the lock screen. It will now feature fully customizable settings. Google focused on these areas at designing of Android 5.0 Lollipop. The major change is that Sony is providing support for multiple user profiles and guest mode in the Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA. Support for Android for Work, has been added which make Sony’s Xperia devices more user friendly and attractive to business users. Sony has cleared that only Xperia Z series devices will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA software upgrade. All other devices will not receive the latest android software upgrades.
