Xiaomi Mi 4i OTA update rolling out to fix overheating issues
Xiaomi has started rolling out the OTA system update. Xiaomi Mi 4i users will get OTA update of MIUI v188.8.131.52. Last week company said to fix overheating issues with the new Xiaomi Mi 4i OTA update. The latest update aims to fix overheating issue which was reported earlier by users. The previous Xiaomi Mi 4i OTA update of MIUI v184.108.40.206 LXI was cancelled due to overheating issue. Many users faced this issue after updating their smartphone to that system update. Xiaomi’s Vice President of International Operations Hugo Barra posted on Facebook:
Today we began an over-the-air system update of MIUI v220.127.116.11 for Mi 4i users. This is our first major update for the Mi 4i since its launch last month, incorporating feedback from many early Mi 4i users with a number of bug fixes and optimizations.
Mi 4i device users were experiencing heating issues while playing complex games. To fix this overheating issue Xiaomi optimized its thermal control algorithms to better regulate the temperature. The latest Xiaomi Mi 4i OTA update adds that the new thermal controls will adjust voltage, frequency and the CPU cores involving in chipset temperature.
Xiaomi released pre-OTA and internal testing in MIUI Forum for beta testers. User observed that new bug fix reduced the device’s overall temperature and no effect on performance. According to company all users will receive the Xiaomi Mi 4i OTA update in this week. Xiaomi Mi 4i is the latest smartphone from the company which ismini version of Xiaomi Mi 4. This device has Xiaomi Mi 4i features like 5″ HD display with 441ppi pixel density. Company is claiming that Mi 4i has higher color saturation than Apple’s iPhone 6. The device is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 second generation processor. But the device comes with only 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The smartphone runs on MIUI 6 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
