MIUI 7 released in New Product Launch Event
MIUI 7 has been released by Xiaomi on the 5th birth anniversary of MIUI. Today a new product launch event was held by Xiaomi at China National Convention Center. Some new products like Redmi Note 2 and Mi Wi-Fi nano also launched along with MIUI 7. The latest mobile operating system from Xiaomi is based on both android Kitkat 4.4.4 and android Lollipop 5.1. MIUI 7 version may vary depending upon the devices.
The MIUI 7 Developer Edition is going to be available soon for devices such as Xaiomi Mi 2, Redmi 2S, MI 3, MI 4, Mi4i, RedMi, RedMi Note, MI Note. China Developer ROM will be available to the users from 14 August 2015. Xiaomi is ready to rolling out MIUI 7 via an OTA update over 150 million MIUI lovers around the world. MIUI 7 will come with five official themes, with a “Goddess” theme specifically designed for women.
The MIUI7 is full of unique features. An interesting addition for the China version is Mi Roaming app, which allows you to use a virtual SIM card of sorts when you travel. You’ll be able to buy a data plan through Xiaomi when you leave your home country, allowing you to retain your SIM card on your travels. We’ll be on the lookout to see if this feature makes its way to the global ROM as well.
In MIUI 7, user will be able to set videos for contacts so that every time you get a call, the video starts playing instead of a ringtone. A new feature for the gallery has been introduced is face recognition, which lets you to categorize photos by people. You will be able to set names and profiles for an individual, giving you a quick overview of all the photos that person is present in.
