LeTV Le Max Pro Launched with Snapdragon 820 at CES 2016
Letv, One of the largest online entertainment company of China announced new smartphone named as LeTV Le Max Pro. The company previously launched four smartphones under its Le brand – the Le 1, Le 1 Pro, Le Max and Le 1S in China. The all four smartphones are claimed to be the first to come with USB Type-C ports in the world. The next smartphone LeTV Le Max Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. It will be world’s first smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 820 processor. According to a leaked screenshot on a Chinese website the device will carry a price tag of RMB 3,500 (around $535) in China. The price may differ in USA and India. Jun Liang, chief operating officer at Letv said in CES 2016:
“Letv has already established itself as one of the world’s top innovators. Our decision to include the Snapdragon 820 processor in new device demonstrates our commitment to creating and delivering the best technology available to our customers.”
The Le Max Pro comes in metal unibody design feels like a premium device. This smartphone feels great but it also looks nice in the hand. The device has a 6.33-inch IPS LCD display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. The display has a pixel density of 464 ppi. It offers good viewing angles and colors. The LeTV Le Max Pro is the first smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU. The CPU is clocked at 2.2 GHz and paired with the Adreno 530 GPU. The device comes with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32/64/128GB internal storage options. The processing package of device works extremely smooth and snappy.
In terms of camera, the Le Max Pro has a 21 MP rear camera with OIS and Dual tone LED flash. The camera app provides more granular control over aspects like exposure, white balance, and ISO. On the front side only 2MP Ultra Pixel camera is there. The dual SIM device runs on Google’s latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow having LeTV’s EUI on the top. It also has a huge 3400mAh non-removable battery for batter backup. The LeTV Le Max Pro is also first smartphone to feature Qualcomm’s Sense ID, which is an ultrasonic-based fingerprint scanner.
According to the rumors the Xiaomi Mi 5 will also have the Snapdragon 820 chipset. But till now the LeTV has this processor in its smartphone. Alex Katouzian, senior VP, product management, Qualcomm Technologies said about the LeTV Le Max Pro:
“We are very pleased that Letv is first to bring compelling and advanced smartphones to consumers that are powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor and feature Snapdragon Sense ID fingerprint technology.”
