Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL today launching in India

The most awaited Microsoft smartphone Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL is going to launch in India. As per the expected and previous post at techbyts it was pre assumed that the device will be launched in first week of December. But Microsoft is set to launch the new Lumia 950 and the 950XL in India today, the last day of November. Microsoft has begun sending invites for launch event. Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are the first devices to run windows 10 mobile operating system out of the box. According to Raghuvesh Sarup, Director of Marketing, Mobile Devices at Microsoft:

[quote_box_center] “India is expected to unveil the new devices on Monday. The Lumia 950 and 950 XL launch event will begin at 11:15am. The launch event will happen simultaneously in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.”[/quote_box_center]

The Lumia 950 features a 5.2-inch AMOLED display along with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and 565 ppi. Whereas the 950 XL comes with a 5.7-inches IPS display along with 2560 x 1440 pixel screen resolution and 518 ppi. The Lumia 950 is powered by a 64 bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 while the Lumia 950 XL packed with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. The device is paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The internal storage can further expended via microSD card.

In terms of camera, both devices come with 20MP rear snapper along with triple LED flash, auto focus and a fifth generation OIS. Both devices also have a dedicated camera button. Both smartphones have a 5MP front-facing camera for ideal for selfies. Both devices feature almost the same hardware and software so one can expect a similar experience. The 950 and 950 XL comes with 3000mAh and 3340mAh batteries respectively which provides good backup.  The battery capacity is similar with leading flagships available in the market. The new Windows 10 has the Continuum feature that allows turning the mobile device into a full-fledged Windows 10 PC. Full features and specs are coming soon. Stay tuned.
