Again the popular Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi shipping Xiaomi Mi4 Preloaded Malware and Spy Adware to Stealing users Data. Data security firm Bluebox has discovered Xiaomi Mi4 preloaded malware and a host of other issues with a Xiaomi Mi 4 device the company tested. Scarier still, the phone seems to have been tampered with by an unidentified third party. Bluebox has been issued a report on Thursday. After that they communicate to Xiaomi and not getting any response. Xiaomi is popular to making high-end devices in low cost. But now it is compromising with users data security.
Bluebox researchers have found two very critical security problems with Xiaomi Mi4. First Xiaomi Mi4 preloaded malware apps. The other problem is that Mi4 sports a forked Android operating system which can be a huge security risk for the users. Yt Service is one such app that is particularly dangerous. Yt Service, whose purpose is to integrate an adware service called DarthPusher, comes in all Xiaomi Mi4 preloaded. The unassuming adware which is used to push up ads gives a false impression that it has been developed by Google. In September, 2014 F-Secure, mobile and data security firm also raise a security concern in Xiaomi smartphones. After that Indian Army banned this Xiaomi smartphone to its employees and officers.
After that this serious issue Hugo Hugo Barra, Vice President of Xiaomi come with a clarification:
[pull_quote_center]We are certain the device that Bluebox tested is not using a standard MIUI ROM, as our factory ROM and OTA ROM builds are never rooted and we don’t pre-install services such as YT Service, PhoneGuardService, AppStats etc. Bluebox could have purchased a phone that has been tampered with, as they bought it via a physical retailer in China. Xiaomi does not sell phones via third-party retailers in China, only via our official online channels and selected carrier stores.[/pull_quote_center]”
