Xiaomi Redmi 2 Launched in India: First Impression
Xiaomi Redmi 2 launched, by the Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi. Redmi 2 is successor to the popular budget smartphone Redmi 1s. It has been launched at an event held in New Delhi today. The device has an attractive price Rs 6,999. It will be available on Xiaomi’s e-commerce partner website Flipkart. Registrations has been started for this charming device. The Redmi 2 phone will go on sale on March 24, 2015. A limited Edition Redmi 2 with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage will be launched later. On the first sale around 30,000 – 40,0000 units of the Redmi 2 will be available. It will be a competitor for the new Moto E 2nd Gen which is also priced at 6,999.
Xiaomi Redmi 2 has a few features with its predecessor. The new redmi 2 is powered by the 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, while Redmi 1S comes with the 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset. The front camera gets a resolution bump, from 1.6MP to 2MP in Xiaomi Redmi 2. The battery capacity is also slightly higher 2,200mAh as compared to 2,000mAh of Redmi 1S. Xiaomi Redmi 2 also supports QuickCharge 1.0 technology for faster battery charging. Xiaomi pre-loaded the Android 4.4-based MIUI 6.0 software with Redmi 2. The new model is thinner (9.2mm) and lighter (134gram) than its predecessor (9.9mm and 158gram).
